Riverside Partners with U.S. Army for Army PaYS Initiative
November 10, 2022Riverside Healthcare celebrated a partnership with the U.S. Army with a ceremonial signing agreement for the Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) program at Riverside Medical Center on September 27, in Kankakee, IL.
“Being a preferred military friendly employer is the least we can do to show our gratitude for those who have sacrificed so much for us,” said Phil Kambic, President and CEO of Riverside Healthcare. “We began in earnest at the beginning of 2021 to earn the Veteran Friendly Organization distinction. This journey has opened our eyes to the many steps we can take to be an employer of choice for those who serve and have served in the military.”
The agreement between Riverside Healthcare and PaYS is part of Riverside’s initiative to become a Veteran Friendly Workplace.
“It is a great honor to be a part of the signing ceremony signifying a win-win opportunity for everyone involved and more importantly for our soldiers and future employees [of Riverside Healthcare],” said Shane Doolan, LTC, FA, Commandor Chicago Recruiting Battalion from the U.S. Army. “We need to understand the impact this program has, the Army does not want to take talent away, we want to bring talent back to the communities they are from.”
The PaYS program ensures Soldiers are guaranteed a job interview with a PaYS partner of their choice after completing their Army Reserve training or first term of active duty service. The program provides employers with a pool of highly skilled, motivated and professional candidates from which they can fill their personnel needs.
