Before the Interview

After applying for a job with Riverside Healthcare, your application submission will be reviewed by a Riverside recruiter and, if qualified, the hiring manager for the position. If you are determined to be a strong candidate for the role, a Riverside recruiter will call you to schedule a 30-45-minute interview. The interview will most likely be in-person, at Riverside Medical Center, or at a Riverside office or clinic. However, some discussions may be scheduled over the phone or over Riverside’s video conferencing platform. Your assigned recruiter will specify the interview format when they contact you. Please ensure your phone voicemail is set up to receive messages and is not complete, as the recruiter will leave a voicemail with details on how to schedule your interview if you do not answer. Once your interview has been designed, your assigned recruiter will e-mail you an interview confirmation and several forms to complete online. These forms confirm your eligibility to work in a healthcare facility and must be completed before you can be offered employment at Riverside. You will be asked to complete the following:

  • Drug screening consent form
  • Identification information form
  • Review and consent of several Riverside work policies
  • Criminal history questionnaire
    • If you do have a criminal record, please review the IDPH guide to determine if your past offense(s) requires you to apply for a waiver, or disqualify you from working in an Illinois healthcare facility.
  • Reference form
    • You must provide contact information for 2 manager references and 2 peer/coworker references. These individuals will then be sent a survey to complete about your work performance. At least 1 manager and 1 peer must respond to this survey before you may be offered employment at Riverside.

During the Interview:

We advise you to arrive about 10 minutes before your scheduled interview time, to check-in at the location the recruiter communicated to you. The interview location will also be noted in the confirmation e-mail your recruiter sent you. At the time of your interview, the recruiter and hiring manager will ask you a series of informational and situation-based questions to learn more about your background, experience, and education. At the end of the interview, they will also provide you with information about the next steps in the process and a timeline as to when you will receive a decision about potential future employment.

After the Interview:

If you emerge as a top candidate for the position for which you interviewed, your assigned recruiter will call you to extend an offer of employment. At the time of the offer, they will communicate the pre-employment tasks you must complete starting in your new role at Riverside. These tasks include:

  • Negative Drug Screen within 2 business days of offer
  • Strength Assessment
  • Proof of up-to-date immunizations or titers to be taken at the clinic (COVID vaccination or approved declination only required if hired at Miller or Senior Living)
  • Validation of license, education, and required certifications
  • Criminal Background Check
  • I-9 Verification – 1-2 acceptable forms of ID

If you are not selected for the position, you will receive a notification e-mail, or your application status will be updated online. While you may not have been selected for this particular position, we would encourage you to consider applying to other openings at Riverside.
