Juan Jimenez, MD, provides Canadian surgeons with a look into the tools that make complex surgery happen

Riverside Healthcare neurosurgeon Juan Jimenez, MD, recently hosted a delegation of fellow physicians from the University of Manitoba Section of Neurosurgery to provide an opportunity to witness the capabilities of hospital technology. Neil Berrington, MMed, FRCS, FCS(SA) lead the group from Canada as they continue to explore the capabilities of neurosurgery technology.
“I feel honored my Canadian colleagues were able to see first-hand the complex work we can do here at Riverside using the truly state-of-the-art technology,” said Jimenez.
During the visit, the physicians from Canada were able to observe Brainlab’s Cirq robot, a device designed to provide precision and support during a minimally invasive spinal surgery at Riverside Medical Center.
Additionally, Dr. Jimenez demonstrated the hospital’s surgical navigation systems, which provide real-time, three-dimensional imaging and precise guidance to surgeons during complex surgeries. This technology enables surgeons to visualize the intricate structures of the nervous system, accurately plan procedures, and navigate with utmost precision, thereby minimizing risks and optimizing patient outcomes.
