Recognize a Riverside Employee
It’s our priority at Riverside to provide the best care and services possible. When you receive excellent healthcare, it’s natural to want to say 'thank you'. Express your gratitude for a Riverside employee by nominating them for one of three special awards established to recognize exceptional service and care our team members perform. Your expression of gratitude enhances the world-class care we can give the community. Giving back leads to happiness. And happiness leads to healing and healthier behaviors.
The Butterfly Award: For Exceptional CNAs & Techs
The Butterfly Award was established in 2014 by the Nursing Leaders at South Suburban Hospital. The award intends to recognize extraordinary CNAs/Techs who make an enormous difference in the lives of so many people through the super-human work they do every day. This award aligns with Riverside’s Nursing Mission, Professional Practice Model, and commitment to patient-centered vigilance. Leadership at Riverside would like to publicly recognize the profound impact CNAs and Techs demonstrate as valued care team partners. The nominees serve as role models and mentors to their peers.
The Daisy Award: For Extraordinary Nurses
The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary compassionate, and skillful care given by nurses every day. Riverside is proud to be a DAISY Award Partner, recognizing one of our nurses with this special honor once a month. The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died of complications of an auto-immune disease. (DAISY is an acronym for diseases attacking the immune system.) During Pat’s eight-week hospitalization, his family was awestruck by the care and compassion his nurses provided to Pat and everyone in his family.
The Starfish Award: For Remarkable Ancillary Team Members
The Starfish Award was established in 2023 by Riverside Healthcare to recognize employees who make a difference at Riverside every day. This award is intended to recognize ancillary team members who fill vital roles outside of nursing. These “difference makers” provide direct and indirect services to Riverside patients and the community.
