Clinical Student Rotations
The clinical student rotations managed through the Graduate Medical Education (GME) Department are those that are supervised by MDs or DOs, CNPs or CCNS, PA-Cs, and psychologists. The Clinical Student Coordinator in the GME Department will coordinate clinical student rotations based upon the order online applications are received. Preceptor availability, as well as patient volume and workload in each clinic/department, is taken into consideration when coordinating student placements. Riverside Medical Group physicians must be at Riverside for at least 6 months before taking students. Allied Health Professionals must be in practice as a CNP, CCNS, or PA-C at least 2 years before taking students.
The following clinical student rotations are placed through the GME Department:
- Medical Students
- Nurse Practitioner Students
- Physician Assistant Students
- Graduate Psychology Practicum Students (PhD or PsyD) Students
Riverside is affiliated with and teaches clinical students from several universities. Check with your university to see if it has executed an affiliation agreement with Riverside's Graduate Medical Education Department. If not, allow a minimum of 90 days for such a contract to be executed. You may email gme@rhc.net with questions regarding an affiliation agreement.
Individual providers and Riverside medical offices will refer any applicants seeking rotations to the Clinical Student Coordinator in the GME Department, as they will not place students without GME Coordination. Therefore, please apply via our online applications, found on the listings side menu.
