Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
Provider Course
Day One: 7:45 AM - 5:30 PM
Day Two: 7:45 AM - 5:30 PM
The newly revised Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) is an internationally recognized course designed by the Emergency Nurses Association. It will enhance your core knowledge and psychomotor skills necessary for the initial assessment and care of the trauma patient.
TNCC has served as the standard of practice for providing trauma nursing care to patients who have sustained injuries. Injuries induced by all mechanisms, including motor vehicle crashes, suicides, homicides, and poisonings continue to vacillate between being the 3rd and 4th leading cause of death with 2.6 million people requiring hospitalization and almost 37 million seeking emergency department care.
To successfully complete the course, the participant must attend all sessions, must score 80% or better on the multiple-choice written exam, and pass the Trauma Nursing Process evaluation skill station. It is suggested that all participants read the complete TNCC Provider Course manual, 8th edition, that will be sent to participants prior to the course. A card verifying the successful completion of the TNCC Provider Course will be issued to the RN along with a certificate for 17.65 contact hours.
Verification remains current for four years.
