When it comes to mental health, Riverside recognizes the importance of supporting its employees through the challenges healthcare can bring. Mental Health America (MHA) recently awarded Riverside the Platinum Bell Seal for the organization’s commitment to employee mental health.

"Earning the highest certification for Workplace Mental Health from Mental Health America for the third year in a row emphasizes Riverside's dedication to our employees' overall well-being," said Phil Kambic, Riverside Healthcare President and CEO. "Through our Well in Mind program, we support our staff's mental health, enabling them to deliver exceptional patient care to our community."

"Well in Mind," Riverside's employee assistance program, is a free and confidential support service provided by Riverside Healthcare to its employees and their household members. The program focuses on support, prevention, and a mindful mental health and well-being approach.

MHA is the nation’s leading community-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting mental health, well-being, and illness prevention for all. MHA has spent decades researching mental health in the workplace and introduced in 2019 the Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health to recognize companies and organizations that understand the value of addressing mental health at work and implement policies and practices that support employee well-being.

Employee assistance programs like "Well in Mind" are especially important in health care as doctors, nurses, and staff members face emotionally challenging daily situations.

"Our team of counselors understands the demands that working in healthcare can bring, and we know how important it is for Riverside employees to have access to help when they need it," said Kristin Bell, "Well in Mind" Program Coordinator.
