Riverside’s Interventional Suites are equipped with the latest innovations for treatments in interventional cardiology, interventional radiology and electrophysiology, allowing Riverside's team to perform even more complex procedures.
These catheter-based procedures may reduce the risks and recovery time found in traditional surgical approaches. This can result in shorter hospital stays, reduced pain and less visible scarring. Specifically, Riverside's suites are equipped with the Azurion image guided therapy system from Philips Healthcare. Azurion, a fully digital system, enables physicians and care teams to capture and view detailed images resulting in even faster diagnosis and treatment.
Interventional Cardiology
If tests show that you have narrowed or blocked coronary arteries, a minimally invasive procedure called angioplasty can restore healthy flow and reduce your risk for a heart attack. Interventional cardiologists can also implant devices known as stents to prevent future narrowing of the arteries.
