Do You Need Cardiac Rehabilitation?

That’s why our cardiac rehabilitation program provides medically monitored exercise treatments and caring professionals to help you rebuild confidence and live an everyday life again. If you’re wondering whether you need cardiac rehab, here are some everyday situations that may indicate it:
- You’ve had a heart attack or cardiac surgery
- You have a history of heart disease or have had a cardiac event
- You’re experiencing chest pain or shortness of breath
- You have a heart condition that requires medication management
Reduce Your Risk with Cardiac Rehabilitation
Our cardiac rehabilitation program is designed to help you reduce your risk of future cardiac events and manage your symptoms. Your individualized treatment plan may include:
- Exercise counseling and training
- Education on how to manage risk factors, such as smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, weight management, and nutrition
- Counseling to help reduce stress and anxiety related to heart disease
- Telemetry monitoring during exercise
- Guidance on medication management
Cardiac Therapy for Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)
Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is an atherosclerotic disease that can cause narrowing of the peripheral blood vessels, leading to insufficient blood flow to the lower extremities. PAD symptoms include pain, numbness, and tingling in the nerves of the calves and thighs and wounds in the upper and lower extremities. One way to manage your PAD symptoms is with supervised exercise therapy.
Do You Need Supervised Exercise Therapy for PAD?
You may benefit from supervised exercise therapy if you experience intermittent claudication (pain during physical activity that subsides with rest). Our SET/PAD program aims to improve functional capacity and walking distances in patients with PAD. You’ll work with our multidisciplinary team, who will monitor your progress and provide education on risk factor modification. Many risk factors for PAD are the same as those that put patients at risk for heart attack or stroke.
