Visiting Hours and Guidelines
6:30 AM to 8:30 PM
Riverside’s goal is to create an atmosphere that promotes healing.
We know that patients are more likely to thrive in their recovery if they are surrounded by friends and loved ones. We welcome the presence and participation of family and other “partners in care.”
Visiting Guidelines
Visiting hours are encouraged between 6:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
Alterations to the visitor policy may be necessary due to the patient’s care needs.
Additional Visitor Guidelines:
- Visitors must check in with a Lobby Attendant to receive a visitor pass. Visitors must wear a pass at all times during their visit.
- Visitors should always remain in the patient’s room or designated waiting areas.
- Visitors under the age of 16 are to be accompanied by an adult. Visitors under six must have a written order from the attending physician.
- Up to four visitors may be allowed at a time based on the individual patient’s situation.
Emergency Department – Visitors may be restricted from visiting a patient in the Emergency Department when there is an actual or perceived risk of harm, intimidation, or harassment to the patient, other patients or staff.
Pediatrics – Up to two visitors in the procedural care department are welcome to sit with a patient pre and post-procedure.
Labor & Delivery - Two alternating visitors are permitted during labor, delivery, and recovery aside from the mother’s significant other. One designated visitor is permitted for outpatient testing and/or rule out labor.
Cesarean Births & Recovery – Only the father of the baby or designated support person is allowed in the Operating Room & during the recovery period.
Post-Partum/OB Unit – Visitors are welcome, including siblings of the newborn, following the general hospital hours and guidelines.
Intermediate Care Nursery – The mother and designated support person only are welcome to visit the Intermediate Care Nursery unless the newborn’s condition or situation directs otherwise. Identification bands will be verified for all visits.
Overnight Visitors - Two visitors are welcome to stay overnight with a patient.
- Exceptions to the overnight stay or number of visitors that stay can be made if the patient or any member of the care team determines the patient's condition or situation directs it.
Procedures - One adult designated visitor is welcome at a time in the procedural care department to site with a patient pre and post-procedure.
- Two adult visitors are welcome in the surgical waiting room during a procedure.
