At Riverside Medical Center, our on-site pediatric hospitalists help meet all these needs, and more.

These experienced child and newborn specialists from the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They’re working hand in hand with Riverside providers and staff to ensure our youngest patients get the very best care and families receive peace of mind. You don’t need to stress about transferring your child to a different hospital in the city when you can stay right here, in the community you call home.

Hospitalists provide patients with coordinated, ongoing and immediate care while keeping all care team members up-to-date on a child’s condition. And they communicate with pediatricians to ensure they have the information needed to continue care after a child’s hospital stay.

Of course, kids may need medical attention away from Riverside Medical Center, so these pediatric hospitalists aren’t stationary. They’re available to provide consultations to the Riverside Family Birthing Center (for newborns who may need special care) and Riverside Emergency Department (for children who need immediate attention), too.
