GME Wellness
Trainee wellness is a priority at Riverside. The Riverside Medical Center GME Wellness Committee serves to incorporate well-being into the everyday life of trainees and faculty. Our Wellness Committee has created a robust plan that includes trainee one-on-one sessions with the Employee Assistance counselors, group meetings for PGY1 residents to discuss burnout and transitioning to residency, wellness lectures geared towards trainees’ needs, social events, and activities to build community and reduce stress. The Wellness Committee measures the well-being of trainees and faculty through the ACGME Well-Being surveys and the Maslach Burnout Inventory. Trainees at Riverside are encouraged to live a healthy lifestyle through the Riverside REACH program, which offers education on living a healthy lifestyle as well as financial incentives for obtaining annual lab tests, an annual wellness exam, healthy habits points, and completing a health assessment.
