Riverside Medical Center is proud to offer a program to support newly licensed nurses in their transition to clinical practice. We care about you and are committed to empowering you to successfully navigate your professional nursing journey. Riverside has partnered with Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™ to provide resources to help new nurses gain confidence and increase competence during this 12-month program. Your well-being as a new nurse is enhanced through hands-on training and processing clinical experiences.

As a newly licensed nurse at Riverside, you will receive mentoring from an experienced nurse, build relationships with peers and participate in engaging learning experiences in a supportive environment. The interactive sessions using an evidence-based curriculum will increase your ability to:

• Use effective decision-making skills
• Provide clinical nursing leadership when administering care
• Incorporate research-based evidence into practice
• Strengthen professional commitment to nursing
• Formulate an individualized professional development plan

There is no separate application to the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™. Every newly licensed nurse will be enrolled based on the hire date. We look forward to providing you with the support and encouragement you need as you transition into the nurse you have always wanted to be.
